Hello WSS families,

We are very excited to celebrate the incredible learning that has happened over the past couple months during our storytelling residency with Jeff Stockton. Please read the following information very carefully as it contains some important information for our celebration nights next week. Thank you for your anticipated understanding and patience as we pivoted this week and last due to the school’s continued outbreak status. We are hopeful and expect the outbreak to close sometime next week. Please note: this email is personalized to each family according to your child's performance night. You should receive the same evening performance date for all your WSS children. Please contact your classroom teachers if there is a discrepency. Please see below.

As was previously communicated, your child(ren)’s performance night is either Wednesday, April 23rd or Thursday, April 24, 2025.

We invite families to choose a time to come to the school on their scheduled evening. The start times are 5:45pm and 6:30pm and the run time of the performance is 30 minutes maximum. *This is a slight change from last week's plans where everyone came at 5:45pm and stayed until 7pm.*

So, if you choose to come to the school for the 5:45 pm timeslot, you will be finished at the school (depending on if/how many siblings also attend WSS) no later than 6:15pm. This will allow time to reset the classrooms and performances spaces in time for the next start time at 6:30pm. The second group will be finished no later than 7:00pm.

Families will enter the school through any door (all will be unlocked), leave your shoes on please, sanitize your hands and make your way to you child’s homeroom classroom. If you have more than one child at the school, please choose one of their classrooms to start the evening. Please keep your family together at all times (siblings will watch each other).

Kindergarten students who have older siblings at WSS should accompany their families to their older siblings’ classrooms. Kindergarten students with no siblings at WSS are invited to go to the gym to watch the recording of the kindergarten performance that took place earlier in the day.

At 5:45pm (or 6:30 pm, depending on your choice), all families will watch the grade 4 Masters of Ceremony and the Kindergarten students perform via pre-recorded video and hear live from administration and Mr. Jeff via the classroom Interactive Whiteboard. Then, your child will show you their storyboard and tell you their incredible story! After your first child has told their story, you will move to your second child’s classroom and do it again, if applicable. Stories are between 1 and 4 minutes each. Families will have the opportunity to hear their child's story live and celebrate the pride and accomplishment of this incredible learning journey.

Families should exit through any door when they have finished hearing their child(ren)’s stories.

No tickets required! Maximum two adults per family. All siblings are welcome!

We look forward to seeing you next week!

Grounds work will be happening early next week to clear off the gravel from the compound and surrounding areas.  If you see clouds of dust, that is why!
