At West Springs, we value the positive impact that attendance and punctuality have on a child’s academic and social development. Starting the school day on time ensures that students are present for critical activities, including morning routines and instructions that set the tone for the rest of the day.  Arriving promptly fosters a sense of belonging, as children can connect with their peers, participate in community-building activities, and feel more engaged in the learning process.   

We encourage you to work with your child to establish consistent morning routines that prioritize arriving at school on time. Here are a few tips to help:  

  • Prepare backpacks, lunches, and clothes the night before.  
  • Set an earlier bedtime to ensure a good night’s sleep.  
  • Create a morning schedule with enough time for connection, breakfast and getting ready.  

Thank you for your continued partnership in helping your child succeed. Together, we can ensure they start each day with confidence and readiness to learn.   

School doors open at 8:55 am and instruction begins at 9:00 am. Outside supervision begins at 8:45 am. On very cold days (-20 degrees or lower), we open the doors beginning at 8:45 am. 

From School Council 

Save the Date! Council is excited to share that we will be showing a screening of Sceenagers: Elementary School-aged Edition at West Springs School on Thursday, March 12, 2026. More information to come soon! The event will begin at 6:30 pm and run for about 90 minutes. Please mark your calendars and plan to join us. The film addresses some of the challenges school-aged children, parents, and educators face in today’s digital world. All are welcome!
